Ontario Native Plants

Opened in 2017, Ontario Native Plants (ONP) is an online-only retailer specializing in native trees, shrubs, grasses, flowers, and ferns grown from local Ontario seed. They deliver high-quality native plants and seedlings directly to customers’ doors across Ontario. ONP faced issues with their WooCommerce-powered WordPress site during critical launch periods, including slow performance and the need to freeze the site to send customer pickup notifications.

We built a fully custom e-commerce solution tailored to ONP’s needs, featuring new tools such as automated shipping labels and packing lists, custom box sizing to minimize delivery costs, and a visitor queue to manage high-traffic launches. The site has been upgraded with features including a custom pickup scheduler, in-stock alerts, gift cards, wishlists, coupons, and payment processing via Stripe—all designed to optimize operations and provide an enhanced customer experience. Following the launch of their new solution, ONP’s e-commerce has blossomed, with significant year-over-year growth, uninterrupted launch days, and an uptime rating of ≥99.99%.
